This session is designed for those new to teacher-powered and those wanting to learn more about this innovative governance model. If this is your first time attending a teacher-powered conference or event, this is a good place to start! Participating in this session will give you the foundation you need to better understand the other workshops and community conversations. You will leave with-
  • A solid understanding of what teacher-powered is;
  • Knowing the 15 areas of potential autonomy teams can have;
  • Learning about the multiple autonomy arrangements that are possible for teams;
  • An overview of the 9 teacher-powered practices;
  • And, be familiar with the 7 Student-Centered Principles found at teacher-powered schools.

This session will be approximately 60 minutes of sharing information and 30 minutes of Q&A. Throughout our time together you will have a chance to meet other attendees in smaller breakout sessions. Be prepared to be active and engaged.
